The summer school is organized by the Yildiz Technical University (Istanbul-Türkiye) and the Society for Urban Ecology (SURE) in cooperation with Turk and international partners. It aims at exploring human and environmental challenges and finding solutions for these. The Istanbul, Europe's highest populations City, serve as the perfect study area for this purpose. The school will include training on research methodology and group work on various research projects. Field studies that will focus on urban ecological areas of Istanbul will be carried out as part of the summer school. The research part will be in connection of the Summer School from 2st till 8st of September. https://www.sureturkiye.org

Students participating in the summer school will give 5-10 minute presentations about their areas of study. This will provide an opportunity for participants with common interests to come together in the future.

•          In your opinion, what are the most important societal challenges for sustainable urban development?

•          What practical solutions are best suited to address these challenges?

•          Which scientific methods and concepts do you find useful for promoting sustainable cities? What new insights have you gained in this regard?

•          What did you particularly like about the Summer School? Were there any topics/formats that you missed?

•          What are your three take-home learnings from the Summer School: 1) personally, 2) for your further studies and career path, 3) potential joint projects with other Summer School participants?
